Stage Partner Terms of Use
Effective from 21/09/2026. Last updated 05/10/2026.
These terms apply to everyone who uses Stage Partner during its pilot. Please read them carefully. By signing in to Stage Partner, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
In these terms, "Stage Partner", "we", "us" and "our" mean Stage Partner Limited. "The Service" means the Stage Partner website and app. "You" means the teacher or Early Years Practitioner using the Service.
1. About us
Stage Partner is operated by Stage Partner Limited, a company registered in Scotland with company number SC901887. Our registered office is at 13 Kirkhill Terrace, Edinburgh, EH16 5DQ.
You can contact us at hello@stagepartner.scot.
2. The pilot
2.1 The Service is in a pilot. It is available by invitation only and is free to use during the pilot.
2.2 Because it is a pilot, the Service will change as we develop it. We may add, change or remove features, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable. We do not guarantee that it will be available at any particular time, or that it will be free of faults.
2.3 We may end the pilot. Unless clause 9.1 applies, we will email you at least 14 days before your access ends, so that you can copy or export any plans you want to keep.
2.4 Nothing is charged under these terms. If we later offer the Service on paid terms, we will ask you to agree to new terms before any charge applies.
3. Changes to these terms
3.1 We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
3.2: If we change these terms, we will ask you to read and agree to the new version the next time you use the Service.
3.3: If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the Service and ask us to close your account under clause 9.4.
4. Your account
4.1 Accounts are for teachers and Early Years Practitioners working or studying in Scotland whom we have invited to the pilot. You must be 18 or over to have an account.
4.2 You must give us accurate information when you set up your account, and keep it up to date.
4.3 You sign in with a link we send to your email address. Anyone who can read your email can use that link, so keep your email account secure and do not forward or share sign-in links.
4.4 Your account is for you alone. Do not share it or let anyone else use it.
4.5 If you think someone else has used your account, tell us straight away at hello@stagepartner.scot.
4.6 You are responsible for what happens under your account, unless it happens because of something we did or failed to do.
5. Using the Service
5.1 You may use the Service only for lawful purposes, and in a way that does not infringe anyone else's rights or restrict their use of the Service.
5.2 You must not:
- upload, enter or share material that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene or otherwise objectionable
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your connection with any person or organisation
- upload anything that contains viruses or other malicious code
- try to make the Service's AI tools work in ways they are not designed to, for example by trying to get around their instructions or safeguards
- try to access accounts, data or parts of the Service that you are not authorised to use, or interfere with how the Service runs
- access the Service by automated means, or use it far beyond what one person's own planning needs
5.3 Do not enter personal data about anyone into the information you give for lesson plans or other content. That includes you, your pupils, their parents or carers, and your colleagues. Personal data is any information from which a person could be directly or indirectly identified, such as a name. Describe your class and its groups in general terms. If you enter personal data by mistake, tell us at hello@stagepartner.scot.
5.4 We may, but do not have to, review content in the Service. We may remove content that breaks these terms, and suspend or end your access under clause 9.
6. Lesson plans generated with AI
6.1 The Service uses AI (large language models) to generate draft lesson plans from the information you enter.
6.2 Generated content may contain errors or omissions, or material that is not suitable for your class. It may not accurately reflect Curriculum for Excellence, its experiences and outcomes or benchmarks, or your school's own policies.
6.3 A generated plan is a draft to support your professional judgement, not to replace it. Review, check and adapt everything before you use it with pupils.
6.4 We do not guarantee that generated content is accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose. Subject to clause 10.1, we are not responsible for decisions you make or actions you take based on it.
7. Intellectual property
7.1 The Service and its original content, features and functionality belong to Stage Partner Limited and its licensors. Curriculum material shown in the Service, including the experiences and outcomes and benchmarks, is Crown copyright, published by Education Scotland, and is used under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
7.2 You may not use the Stage Partner name, logo or branding without our written permission.
7.3 As between you and us, what you enter into the Service and the plans you create or edit with it ("your content") belong to you. We claim no ownership of your content. You may use, share and adapt it as you wish, inside or outside the Service.
7.4 You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and display your content, and to share it with the service providers who process it on our behalf. We use this licence only to provide the Service to you and to improve it, for example by looking at the plans it generates and the changes you make to them. The licence ends when your content is deleted.
7.5 If you send us feedback or suggestions about the Service, we may use them without any obligation to you.
8. Personal data
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data, including personal data in what you enter into the Service. You can read it at stagepartner.scot/privacy-policy.
9. Suspending and ending access
9.1 We may suspend or end your access straight away if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we need to in order to protect the Service or other people. Where it is reasonable to, we will tell you why.
9.2 We may also end your access for any other reason by emailing you at least 14 days beforehand.
9.3 If your account has had no activity for 12 months, we may close it. We will email you at least 14 days before we do, and signing in during that time keeps your account open.
9.4 You can stop using the Service at any time. To close your account and have your content deleted, email hello@stagepartner.scot.
9.5 When your account closes, or the pilot ends, we will delete your content within 30 days. Your personal data will be handled as shown in our Privacy Policy.
9.6 Clauses that by their nature should continue after your access ends will continue, including clauses 7, 10 and 13.
10. Our liability to you
10.1 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
10.2 Subject to clause 10.1, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, business, goodwill or data, arising from your use of the Service. Keep your own copy of any plan that matters to you.
10.3 Subject to clause 10.1, our total liability to you arising from these terms or your use of the Service is limited to £20.
11. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for any failure or delay in providing the Service that is caused by events outside our reasonable control. These include but are not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, strikes, fire, flood, pandemics, government action, and failures of the networks or third-party services the Service depends on.
12. Other websites
The Service may link to websites or services that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for their content, privacy policies or practices, or for any loss caused by your use of them.
13. Law and jurisdiction
13.1 These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. The courts of Scotland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the Service.
13.2 The Service is designed for teachers and Early Years Practitioners in Scotland working with Curriculum for Excellence. We make no claim that it is suitable for use elsewhere.
14. General
14.1 If a court decides that any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest of the terms continue to apply.
14.2 If we do not enforce any part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
14.3 We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. If we do, we will tell you, and your rights under these terms will not be reduced. You may not transfer your rights or obligations to anyone else.
14.4 These terms are between you and us. No one else has any right to enforce them.
15. Contact
